Ilots Temporels (“time islets”, in free translation from French) is a series by photographer Thomas Jorion. In it, time is seen as a subjective agent, since the images depict abandoned places that haven’t seen human action in a quite long time. It’s almost as if outside these places life followed its natural (and frantic) course, constantly renewing itself, while inside them everything remained the same, static in time.
In order to find these nostalgic places, the photographer has passed through several countries, such as France, Germany, Belgium, USA and Japan.
